Exquisite Character

For my exquisite character, I decided to choose the frog with bird wings and stockings. I tried to make it extremely colorful, so it pops out more. I really, really like how the frog head came out, but I don't like the leg at all. I think it looks fine, but it does not fit the character at all. I can't change that, but if I could, I would. The creature was giving me a tropical/swamp kind of vibe, so I tried to recreate that type of environment as the background. I hope you enjoy this piece, as it took me 6 straight hours to complete. Enjoy!

Sharp- Final Logo

My final logo came out better than I thought it would. I tried to give it a rustic, battered, old, kind of look, and I think I did a fairly decent job at that. My company sells swords, and I wanted the logo to represent that. I wish I did something different with the handles, because it is very generic, but I am still really happy with the way it came out.

Caligramme

For my caligramme piece, I used words to describe the Marvel super hero, Captain America. He is my favorite hero and I decided to make this in the shape of his shield. Without his shield, Captain America is just a super strong guy who is really nice, and polite.

Logo Critique

For my logo critique, I have chosen the Apple logo and the Samsung logo. Both of these companies sell very good phones, computers, tablets, and many more tech accessories. Samsung sells house appliances, while Apple only sells consumer tech products. Both companies are fantastic and have very elegant logos.

The logo above is Apple's logo. Apple has worked its way to the top is now the most well-known and recognized company. A company doesn't become that without a fantastic logo. This logo is so simple, yet so amazing at the same time. It says everything that the company is (the name of the company is Apple and their logo is an apple.) When Steve Jobs was creating his company, he wanted to make it something that everyone knows, and he was absolutely right with that.

Although the Samsung logo looks great, it does not work very well. First of all they don't have a "logo". Their logo is their company's name, and yes it is a very well-known company, but having to type/write Samsung, every time you want people to see your company, can be difficult and troublesome. They need to create an easier logo that everyone can see and instantly know what company it belongs to. There are tons of advantages to using your name as your logo. For starters, everyone knows what your company is. And also, consumers can know that it's a tech company, based on how modern and sleek the letters are.

I have to give this win to Apple. Their logo is so simple and just so memorable, that there is no doubt that their logo is the staple of the company and they would not be where they are today without it. A logo is so important for a company, and a good one will take you further than you could ever imagine.
